Consultation the appointment before the appointment.

A clinical assessment, not a sales appointment. You do not need to arrive knowing what to book — only what you have noticed, what you are curious about, or what you would like to understand. We work the rest out together.

The conversation
The conversation

Before treatment, there is a better question.

Bring what you have noticed: a line that now remains when your face is still, skin that looks tired when you are not, a change in proportion, or simply the sense that you no longer quite recognise what you see in the mirror.

The consultation is where we work out what has changed, what may be causing it and whether treatment is likely to help.

Patient

“I do not know what to book.”

odNOVA

“Good. You do not need to.”

A consultation here is a clinical conversation, not a sales appointment. Whatever you bring, we begin there.

Patient

“Something has changed. Or nothing has — I just want to understand my face.”

Some people arrive with a specific change. Others come to understand their face and skin, establish a baseline, talk through early changes, preserve what already works well, or decide — calmly — whether anything is worth doing at all.

odNOVA

“Then that is exactly where we start.”

Patient

“And what could it realistically achieve?”

odNOVA

“That is a conversation, not a promise.”

Patient

“And if I need time?”

odNOVA

“Take it. That is part of the design.”

The assessment

How the conversation unfolds

Not a form, and not a menu. A structured clinical conversation, in five movements — at your pace.

01What you seeYou

Your concern is the starting point. You do not need medical language or the name of a procedure. Explain what bothers you, when you began to notice it and what you would — and would not — want to change.

02What may be causing itTogether

Two concerns can look similar in a mirror and require completely different plans. A tired under-eye may involve hollowing, pigmentation, thin skin, fluid or several of these together. A heavier lower face may reflect changing support, skin laxity, muscle activity or proportion. Identifying the relevant layer matters more than choosing from a treatment menu.

03What is safe and appropriateClinical review

Your medical history, medicines, allergies, previous procedures and relevant lifestyle factors are reviewed before any recommendation is made. The assessment also considers your anatomy, facial movement, skin condition and the practical recovery a treatment may require.

04What can realistically be achievedTogether

We discuss the likely degree of improvement, limitations, risks, recovery, alternatives, maintenance and the option of doing nothing.

05You decide — in your own timeYou

For a new patient or a new treatment, I do not routinely assess and treat on the same day. Space between the two appointments gives you time to consider the information, ask anything that occurs to you afterwards and decide without the momentum of already being in the treatment room.

Consent is not simply a signature. It is a decision made with enough information and enough time.

Where it can lead

Five honest ways it can end

A useful consultation is measured by the quality of the decision, not by whether something is booked.

01

A treatment plan

A considered plan, with priorities, limitations and timing discussed openly.

02

A smaller intervention than expected

Sometimes less achieves what actually matters.

03

A recommendation to wait

When waiting is the better clinical decision.

04

A different route

Including referral elsewhere when that serves you better.

05

No treatment at all

Offered with the same confidence as any plan.

One line of responsibility

One clinician throughout

I carry out the assessment, make the clinical recommendation, perform the treatment and remain responsible for follow-up. The reasoning behind the plan is not handed from one person to another, and you do not have to explain the same concern again at every stage.

That continuity is part of how odNOVA was designed: one clear line of responsibility from the first conversation onwards.

Practicalities

When you decide to talk

Comprehensive Clinical Assessment

60 minutes · £50

If you are new to odNOVA, considering a new type of treatment, have more than one concern or would like your face and skin assessed as a whole. The appointment allows time for a full history, examination, photographs where appropriate, discussion of priorities and a considered treatment plan. The £50 fee is applied in full towards treatment if you proceed within six months.

Focused Consultation

Appropriate when we already know each other, you are attending for a review, or you have one specific treatment or skincare question that does not require a full assessment.

Before you come

Before you come

Much of the clinical groundwork happens before we meet. Secure medical and skin-health forms are sent in advance, allowing me to review your health, medicines, relevant supplements and skin history before the consultation. You do not need to reconstruct everything from memory in the room.

Please bring, or be ready to discuss:

  • your current medicines and relevant supplements — or complete these in the secure medical form sent before your consultation;
  • allergies and medical conditions;
  • previous aesthetic, skin or surgical procedures;
  • any photographs that help explain a change over time;
  • an upcoming event or deadline that may affect timing;
  • what a good result would mean to you — and what you do not want.

You are expected to bring questions. A cooling-off period between assessment and treatment gives you time and space to consider the plan. You are under no obligation to book treatment during the consultation — or afterwards.

Leave with a clearer answer.

Whether the answer is a treatment plan, a smaller intervention than expected, a recommendation to wait or no treatment at all, the consultation should leave you understanding your face — and the question you came with — more clearly than when you arrived.
